People are continually searching for a way to beat the Casino. The truth is that no matter what you do, you cannot overcome the House Edge.
Every day people claim to have a system that can’t lose. Don’t be fooled, there is no system that can beat the house. They might win in the short term, but over time the total result will always reflect the House Edge.
A famous system that has been around for ages is called the Martingale System. A lot of the systems being sold today are variants of this system. The system is used on any even bet in the Casino. Favourite bets for it are the even bets in Roulette, Pass Line and Don’t Pass Line bets in Craps and Banker and Player bets in Baccarat.
The system suggest betting on any even bet. Let’s use Red in Roulette as an example. The normal minimum bet is $10. If black wins on the next spin, double your bet on Red. You will now bet a $20. If black wins again you must double your bet on Red once again. You will now bet $40. If Red finally wins you will win $40 – $30 bet previously. You show a profit of $10, which was your original bet. The reasoning behind the system is that as long as you can afford to double, you will eventually win. The truth is that few people can afford to carry on doubling and eventually you will lose all your money. Even if you have unlimited money, the Casino has made sure that this system will eventually fail. All even money bets have relatively high minimum bets and they all have a maximum bet, which cannot be exceeded. Once you reach the maximum bet, the system will fail, as you can’t double after the maximum bet is reached.
When analyzed a lot of the systems being sold today are disguised versions of the Martingale system. Although they might win in the short term, one catastrophic loss will restore the House Edge. Beware of any system that involves doubling after losing.
The only way to win consistently is to start with a bankroll that you can afford, and quit after doubling your bankroll. At least you will be able to play with Casino money next time. Never exceed your original bankroll if you have lost it. Cut your losses and try again next time. Remember Casino gambling is fun and shouldn’t be a way of earning money. If you play the correct bets, you’ll get value for your money.
